Starting Again – A New Creative Journey

When I was younger and off on adventures across the world it was easier to think of things to write about. I would simply share a fun travel photo or crazy story and that was that. Today I am wiser, but things are not as exciting as they once were. This doesn’t mean I don’t have stories to tell or interesting things to share, but this blog is more about what I’ve learned than what I’m doing.

I was blessed to be able to live and work in Iwakuni, Japan for a few years. Everything I experienced taught me something about myself and the things I love. I saw majestic architecture, amazing wildlife and admired the creativity of Japanese people. But I also saw the mundane everyday side of life that everyone experiences after the excitement starts to fade.

Now, I find myself at a time in my life when I am at my most creative, but also when I have the least amount of time to create. So I’ve made a pact with the universe that I will create beautiful things in the spare moments I have, even if it is only one tiny step at a time. This means that I must also take the time to absorb the beautiful things around me and remember the things I’ve seen, so that I can be filled with inspiration.

Therefore, my gift to you dear reader, is to share what I can of myself, my adventures, and my passions and hope that you gain at least one small bit of inspiration, joy, or pearl of wisdom. So if you love beautiful things, enchantment, whimsy and holding on to optimism then you’ve come to the right place. I welcome you with open arms and a warm cup of tea.
